Hey Joyce,
ReplyDeleteas we've talked in our classes, traffic jams are not only a problem to whom is driving, but also to all of us.
Surely this polution, and all the stress caused by traffic congestions, could be decreased if we started using bikes instead of cars. We know that it's dificult in a city like ours, where there aren't enough bicycle paths... but we have to start changing our habits, to make our planet a happier and healthier place.
Nice essay,
congrats!
Traffic jams are a serious problem . Including here in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to stay hours in traffic, we still breathe pollution , which is very to our health.
ReplyDeleteYou presented bike as a alternative, but it can only be used for shorter distances.. there are same places that we can arrive by bike. other solution could be collective transport, because if everybody use it there would have less congestion.
=*
I agree with you when you said that travel by bicycle may help avoid traffic jam, but there are somethings that we have to considerate.
ReplyDeleteSome Metro stations already have 'bicicletários' but it's not enought, besides I think that is too dangerous drive bicycles on the strets nowadays. We need to improve facilities before we use this kind of transportation with safety.
At this moment I'm thinking this problem. I gotta go to work and i don't know how many hours i'll spend to reach the city center. I may get there in an hour or maybe two hours.
ReplyDeleteThe constant traffic congestion is a serious problem and needs to be resolved or mitigated in any way.

God helps us!
good work!!
Comfort, security and practicality had been transformed in tottaly opposite with the excess of vehicles on the streets. It's funny because media and government could incentivate more people to use bikes, but it's understandable that the sale of car is so far profitable than the sell of Bikes. I think this is the mainly reason for te actual situation. This is a very interesting theme..good job!!
